This luxurious hideaway was created and inspired by the intrepid travels of the great William Holme. An explorer with a passion for discovery, who spent his life exploring the world. He documented his travels, keeping journals full of collected memorabilia along the way, some of which you’ll see within the decor of this building.
As William wanted to share his journeys and experiences without anyone needing to leave his home town of Durham, his ancestors created this selection of beautifully designed suites, each inspired by one of William’s favourite locations.
From the Moroccan Marrakesh Suite, to the Pyrenees inspired Andorra Suite, to the chinoiserie of the Peking Suite and the contemporary New York-London-Dubai style of the Pioneer Suite – no two visits here are the same.
